Full guide: Clairic field types: text, number, date, list, estimate and forecast
A forecast is one of the nine field types of Clairic, Cloudflare’s extraction model. Where an estimate predicts one value, a forecast predicts one for each step of a future period.
The field takes min and max like an estimate, a horizon of 1 to 64 steps, and an interval: step, minute, hour, day, week, month, quarter or year. The output schema describes a steps field as “one estimate per step”. In Cloudflare’s blog example, a one-day forecast of US airport checkpoint counts returns its value, median and interval as arrays with one entry each.
Put the history in the state, for example as CSV rows of date and count. Cloudflare’s blog says forecasting “is basic” and that Clairic is not meant to replace a time-series model trained on your data. Its own 21-day airport test is vendor-run; the Clairic model page has the figures. The Clairic field types guide covers all nine types.
